Goat Meat
It is a challenge for all of us who care about our animals to accept and participate in the end of their lives. At Springtide Farm we are completely committed to animals throughout their lives, from birth through death.
What this means is that we accompany them to the slaughterhouse, and keep them (not us) comfortable through their death. They are held by us and are only wondering about what this new place is when they die. As a result their slaughter is as humane as their life has been. There is no noticeable stress for them and they end their lives comfortably.
We offer goat meat for sale, and encourage you to give it a try if you haven't already. Goat meat tastes very similar to beef, with a bit of the flavor of venison thrown in. The fat on goats is peripheral, not marbled as with beef or lamb, so their meat is very lean and healthy to eat. The meat is fresh frozen in vacuum packaging and can be shipped anywhere in the US.
